The movie portraits the last years in the life of José María Morelos y Pavón, Mexican heroe, who after escaping the siege of his enemies takes one of the most important cities of Mexico. However, having more than half of the Mexican territory in his hands, he insists on taking over the Acapulcos harbor while the royal troops rearrange themselves, grow stronger and slowly gain get territory back.
