Rosario is hired at the Tronío cabaret in the face of hostility from the unpleasant singer Mercedes, the “star” of the place. Another singer, Antonio, takes an interest in Rosario, believing her to be single, and gives work to her husband, Carlos, who was unemployed and is sought by a detective.
